Education

I have a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from York University, a M.A. Anthropology from the University of Western Ontario and a B.A. Honours with Distinction, Anthropology and Philosophy, Wilfrid Laurier University. More importantly, I have been a professor for several years and was a teaching assistant for many more. Hence I have a great deal of experience in academia. Despite this, I'm also really nice :) .

Experience

I am a professor who cares, and I know what's expected of you. I am a socio-cultural anthropologist (mad social scientist) and have been a professor in the Centre for Global Studies at Huron University College, Western University, since 2008, teaching interdisciplinary social science subjects related to globalization, conditions of globality, development, capitalism, social movements, modernity and research methods. I have taught previously in Brock University's Department of Sociology and York University's Department of Social Anthropology. Before that I was a teaching assistant for more than a decade while completing my studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, The University of Western Ontario, and York University. In addition I have over two decades of experience as a researcher in the social sciences and find it fundamentally important to keep abreast of new findings, methods and issues in the social sciences. During my time as a professor I have become quite aware of the many problems faced by students and take a keen interest in helping them to overcome their difficulties in order to succeed. While I am known as a demanding professor (and this gives me insight into the expectations of other professors that can be of help to students), I have also developed a reputation as a caring and nurturing professor who does not give up on his students. Nurturing the skills and potential of my students is very important to me and I greatly enjoy working one-on-one with them. This, naturally, makes me well suited for tutoring.
