Education

I earned my undergraduate degree with honors in economics from the University of Western Ontario and then went on to earn my graduate degree in business administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. I've additionally received an accounting diploma from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Experience

I became a Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) in 1999 and passed UFE on my first attempt. Additionally, I scored in the 98th percentile on the GMAT on my first attempt and 90th percentile on the LSAT on my first attempt. My personal experience with these exams gives me greater insight into the preparation process. I have been a full-time business professor at Niagara College since 2008, focusing on financial accounting, managerial (cost) accounting, Canadian income taxation, microeconomics, macroeconomics, and finance. Prior to this, I taught GMAT courses. I offer tutoring sessions to help students prepare for both the LSAT and the GMAT as well as a variety of finance and accounting courses for high school and college students.

Hobbies

Knowledgeable, patient, and personable. Good at taking difficult subjects and breaking them down into easier-to-understand components, and patient enough to keep trying new approaches if the first attempt at learning material isn't successful. Happy to teach one-on-one or to a larger study group. Available from Burlington to Niagara Falls. Based on my educational background, my GMAT/LSAT writing and teaching experience, my post-secondary professor experience, and being an excellent english speaker, I'm probably more expensive than most other options on here - but I think you'll find me worth it (or a group of you might find me affordable). I'm charging $40/hour for off-site in-person tutoring, $30/hour for online/email/phone/on-site tutoring (both I'm willing to do in part hours once a 1-hour minimum is reached). Personal interests include travelling, baseball, hiking, listening to music, and spending time with family.
