I became involved in translating through the natural progression of the skills and experience I gained growing up in a multicultural, bicultural and biliterate family in both California and Mexico. I developed a love for languages at a very young age and began to pursue a career in the field, starting by hosting radio talk shows and workshops on the importance and advantages of professional writing and of being bilingual in the business world. When I reached adolescence I became involved in sports, which led me to pursue a career in fitness, and joined the Women’s Athletics (Cross Country & Track & Field). I’ve been interviewed throughout the years by local radio stations in Guadalajara and newspapers on the importance of health. For the last 16 years I’ve juggled a variety of different roles including translator and interpreter as well as a language, health and fitness consultant. My love for languages, skills and desire to help others led me to work independently as a small business in Guadalajara, Jalisco geared towards education. I’ve worked with High School students and young athletes who study abroad as a well as with professionals. I have taught a wide variety of courses including TOEFL (IBT/PBT), TOEIC, ACT, SAT, SUBJECT SAT, SSAT, GRE, Cambridge, IELTS, Technical English, Journalism and medical writing, advanced composition, tax law, international business, CV and Cover Letter writing, among others. I also provide training and support (Teaching English for a Specific Purpose) at National, Transnational, and International Companies in the following areas: engineering, architecture, law and medicine, Marketing, Branding, Sales, Human Resources, Law, Finance, Economics, among other fields. I have provided my services to foreign companies and local government agencies, tour operators and entrepreneurs. I have provided my services as a freelance translator, proofreader, editor and reviewer to different Hospitals in the U. S., for the last five years where I specialize in a broad range of medical and health topics. In 2018 I authored Habla Cristiano, Spanish as a Second Language 1 & 2, geared towards Spanish for Catholic Priests & Seminarians. My broad experience (16+ years) has allowed me to improve day by day to assure top quality services. I recently moved to Toronto, and I am looking for work.
