Hi there! My name is Leela and I'm currently in my fourth year of the Bachelor of Health Sciences program at McMaster University. Prior to attending McMaster, I completed my entire elementary and secondary schooling in the francophone school system. Additionally, originating from a bilingual family with my mother being French, I have full written and verbal communication mastery of both languages at an extensive level. Furthermore, through the undergraduate degree which I am currently pursuing at McMaster University and throughout which I have achieved a high academic standing in all subjects with a current grade point average of 3.9, I have acquired extensive skills in the sciences and mathematics. These skills in the scientific subjects have further be strengthened through my extensive work in the clinical research setting which has led me to co-authoring several peer-reviewed scientific publications throughout my undergraduate career. I have a true passion for teaching and regardless of your current level or goals in the subject which you are interest in working on, I would love to be able to contribute to your journey in achieving your learning objectives!
Experience
Throughout my high school and undergraduate careers, I have tutored several middle-school and high-school students on a one-on-one basis in French, English, mathematics, biology and chemistry as well as several adult clients wishing to develop their written and verbal communication skills in French or English. Furthermore, my passion for teaching has driven me to engaged in ongoing volunteer tutoring in the community for youth aged 6 to 18 years in a variety of school subjects.

Initially, I will determine with each student their current level, specific goals in the context of their learning experience and establish achievable milestones which will enable the student to maintain motivation and drive in their journey towards the achievement of their objective. These goals and milestones will be periodically re-evaluated and when necessary modified in order to ensure that students are maintaining motivation and achieving the desired learning objectives which they had set themselves. Students will be encouraged to provide me with ongoing feedback regarding their learning preferences and ways in which they believe that I could modify my approach to teaching in order to enhance their learning experience.
